RiverValley Behavioral Health has launched, ROSES For Moms, a program designed to provide support to pregnant and parenting women facing substance use challenges. ROSES – an acronym for Recovery, Opportunity, Support, Empowerment, and Success – embodies the program’s commitment to empowering women on their journey to sustained recovery and improved quality of life for themselves and their families.

ROSES For Moms offers a comprehensive range of services, including personalized support, case management, access to behavioral and physical health services, housing assistance, and career development opportunities.

“As we celebrate Mental Health Month and Mother’s Day, we are thrilled to introduce the ROSES For Moms program,” said Dr. Wanda Figueroa, President & CEO of RiverValley Behavioral Health. “This program represents a significant step forward in supporting the health and well-being of pregnant and parenting women in our community. By providing comprehensive support and resources, we aim to empower women to overcome barriers to recovery and create brighter futures for themselves and their families.”

Funding for ROSES For Moms is made possible through a generous 5-year, $2.6 million grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

ROSES For Moms is part of RiverValley’s expansion of maternal health services. RVBH is also the founder of the Maternal Health Council, which gathers trusted and licensed community providers interested in expanding services for moms. RiverValley also provides support to women and mothers through The Amethyst Center, a residential recovery program for women that provides accommodations for new and expecting mothers in recovery and their babies, and KY Moms MATR (Maternal Assistance Towards Recovery), providing prevention and recovery services and resources to new moms and their families.

“We recognize the vital role that mothers play in shaping the health and stability of their families and communities,” Figueroa said. “By supporting moms in their recovery journey, we can make a positive impact on the lives of their babies, families, and communities.”

RiverValley Behavioral Health invites the public, community leaders, and partners to a ROSES For Moms luncheon at 11:30 a.m.on on May 13 at RVBH@The Crowne, located at 107 E. 2nd Street in Owensboro. The event will feature insights from a mom in recovery and RiverValley’s team members, including Brittani Roberts, LCPC, NCC, RFM Maternal Health Coordinator.
